"Sometimes we face challenges that we cannot overcome alone. Here you can find the safe space to share your thoughts and feelings and to develop new perspectives and strategies."
Following the principle of “help for self-help,” my goal is for my patients to become specialists in their own issues. I support you in understanding the fundamentals and significance of your situation and in developing strategies to become healthy, reduce suffering, and gain new quality of life.
Group Therapy
I lead several therapy groups with different focuses in my practice. During an initial consultation, I will try to determine whether group therapy is the right therapeutic setting for you, whether you can benefit from my approach, and which group might suit you best.
Group
Offers
These groups provide a supportive framework for individuals facing various (and similar) mental health challenges, including anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, burnout, and social anxiety.
These groups provide a trusting and empowering space for women seeking support on their journey toward mental health and personal growth. For some women, it is easier to open up and confide in a group exclusively for women.
In our sessions, you will have the opportunity to share experiences with like-minded individuals in a safe space and learn from their insights. You will be encouraged to face your fears, try out new behaviors, and celebrate your successes!
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach combines various innovative methods with well-established techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy, always aligned with the latest scientific standards. I work on clarifying and modifying early emotional patterns (schema therapy), focusing on values, goals, and what truly matters in your life (ACT), and deepening emotional experiences and processes (EFT).
I also frequently incorporate techniques from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to promote emotional regulation and address interpersonal challenges. Many psychological issues are rooted in underlying self-esteem difficulties. For this reason, I work with nearly all my clients on strengthening their self-esteem and their ability to advocate for their own needs.

Many psychological issues often stem from underlying difficulties with self-esteem. For this reason, I work with nearly all my clients to strengthen their self-esteem and empower them to advocate for their own needs.
In working with therapy groups, I have found my preferred therapeutic setting. I enjoy the versatility of this work and the invaluable input from participants. I firmly believe that the capacity for recovery lies within each of us, but we need a supportive, safe, and appreciative social environment to unlock these abilities. I strive to create such an environment in my therapy groups, enabling you to grow into a more contented individual with a better quality of life.
Psychotherapy can address profound and challenging topics. At the same time, I like to foster curiosity about self-exploration and joy in the process of personal growth. Therapy can and should, at times, be enjoyable.
Throughout your therapy journey, I will be by your side to support, encourage, and empower you. Together, we will analyze challenges, uncover resources, and bring about positive changes in your life.
1. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
CBT is based on the assumption that behaviour, ways of thinking and emotional reactions are learned and that we can relearn them. Together we try to understand which patterns of thought and behaviour no longer work well for you today and how they lead to psychological problems and emotional states that are difficult to bear. We then develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving that enable you to feel better and do the things that are important and valuable to you again. CBT involves understanding how a psychological problem has developed, but also actively implementing and practising newly learnt strategies and integrating the new experience into your emotional experience.
2. Group Therapy
My additional qualification in group therapy enables me to offer effective and supportive group sessions where you can benefit from the support and sharing with like-minded people. Group dynamics offer a unique opportunity for growth, connection and change and I am happy to guide you along the way.
3. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a modern therapeutic approach that aims to promote psychological flexibility and support value-orientated action. By accepting unavoidable thoughts and feelings and encouraging behavioural changes in line with your personal values, you can lead a fulfilled and meaningful life.
4. Schema Therapy
Schema therapy focuses on identifying and addressing deep-seated emotional patterns and needs. We will work together to break unhealthy life patterns and develop healthy coping strategies to fulfil your emotional needs and strengthen your relationships.
5. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a therapy method that was developed specifically for people with emotion regulation disorders such as borderline personality disorder. By working on emotion regulation skills, interpersonal skills, self-esteem and mindfulness, you learn to use your feelings for yourself, strengthen relationships and cope better with crises. As everyone can benefit from these skills, I also like to use these methods with people without borderline symptoms.
6. Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is a form of therapy that uses the conscious experience and deepening of emotions to release emotional blockages and develop a deeper understanding of one’s own feelings. Even if we have understood a problem intellectually, EFT often opens up significant new insights into our psychological processes.
„The topics in psychotherapy can be profound and challenging, but I also like to focus on the curiosity of self-exploration and the joy of the development process. Therapy can also be fun at times.“
„We learn the most about ourselves in our encounters with others."
Procedure and start of group therapy
1. Contact by e-mail
If you are interested in participating in group therapy, please send me an e-mail to: mail(at)psychotherapie-ploch.de
Please briefly state your request, your telephone number and, if you like, your age.
2. Short preliminary telephone conversation
After receiving your e-mail, I will call you for a short preliminary discussion. This will give you the opportunity to ask your questions and receive initial information about the process and content of the group therapy. At the same time, we will use this conversation to get a first impression of your therapy needs and to see whether one of my therapy groups might be suitable.
3. Personal one-to-one meeting with me
After the preliminary telephone consultation, you will come to the practice for one or more appointments. In these individual sessions, you will have the opportunity to describe your personal situation in more detail and clarify your therapy concerns. I will also carry out an initial diagnostic assessment to determine whether group therapy meets your individual needs.
4. Trial session in the group
As soon as the fit for the group has been clarified, you will join the group for a trial session. This trial session allows you to gain a first impression of the group dynamics, the content and the working style of the group. At the same time, the group members also have the opportunity to get to know you and adjust to you.
5. Application to the health insurance company
If you decide to take part in group therapy after the trial session, I will send an application to your health insurance company, as they have to authorise the therapy (which they usually always do). The costs of group therapy are also covered by statutory health insurance.
6. Costs
Participation in group therapy is covered by statutory health insurance. This means that there are generally no direct costs for you as a participant. The costs for group therapy are settled directly with your health insurance company. Depending on the contract, the costs may also be covered by private health insurance companies.
