This group is for all patients with different psychological challenges who prefer to do therapy in English over German because German is nor ther first language.
Our English-speaking psychotherapy group provides a welcoming environment for individuals facing a range of psychological issues while living away from their home countries. Whether grappling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns, participants find solace in connecting with others who share similar experiences.
Group Focus:
Coping with psychological challenges:
In our group, participants learn to understand the origins of their psychological problems and learn strategies to cope with them. The therapeutic interventions are all based on cognitive behavioural therapy and the latest scientific standard. I also work with clarifying and modifying emotional patterns originating in childhood (Schema therapy), focusing on values, goals and the things that really matter in your life (ACT) as well as deepening emotional experience and processes (EFT). I also frequently use methods from dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT) to help regulating emotional states and interpersonal problems.
Emotional Support and Understanding:
Our psychotherapy group offers a space where individuals can openly discuss their struggles with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges without fear of judgment. Living in a foreign country can often exacerbate feelings of isolation and distress. Through shared experiences, participants offer empathy and encouragement to one another, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Selfworth and Growth:
Our psychotherapy group emphasizes the potential for personal growth and strengthening your sense of selfworth. Participants engage in self-reflection, exploring their identities, values, and aspirations. Through this process, individuals gain insights into their strengths and resilience, empowering them to navigate life’s transitions with greater confidence and purpose.
